Mobile application "Climate Campaigners"developed as part of program in which BEU represented

"Campaigners" project implemented within the framework of the "Horizon 2020" program funded by the European Union. In addition to BMU, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASUU) and universities, companies, municipalities, and public organizations from 14 foreign countries (Turkey, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, France, Finland, Greece, Italy, Ireland, South Africa, Lithuania and Peru) participate in the mentioned project.

The main goal of the "Campaigners" project is to direct the active participation of people in the direction of reducing the effects of climate change. Thus, climate change and global warming are among the most serious global environmental problems at the present time. The solution of this problem also falls on society as a whole. We, as citizens, can be a part of this solution and closely participate in the formation of a clean and sustainable environment. One of the main goals of the project is to make certain changes in people's daily lifestyles, to minimize their carbon emissions, use less energy, save water, use more public transport, etc. is to explain their positive contribution by promoting and promoting activities such as These results are expected to be presented in the form of a report at the end of the project, and it is also expected that the report can facilitate the work of decision makers in the field of climate change.

Software (mobile application) was built based on the project to realize the mentioned goals. The mobile application called "Climate Campaigners" was developed in the languages of the countries to which more than 30 organizations represented in the "Campaigners" project belong, including Azerbaijani. Although the process of improving the mentioned mobile application continues, currently it is possible to download and use it from the "Play Store" and "App Store" platforms. The main goal of the software is to calculate the carbon impact based on targets selected by users in the areas of transport, food, energy and consumption. This allows users to identify the areas from which they mainly affect the environment. With this, it is planned to contribute to the prevention of global warming and climate changes by reducing the carbon impact thanks to the targets selected in the program.

After downloading the software, you register and select the country and city where you live. Here you are offered goals in 4 directions (transportation, food, energy, consumption). The duration of the targets is variable - usually one or two weeks. After selecting the targets in the software and following the appropriate procedure, you enter information about how you execute the target. The app calculates both your monthly and annual carbon footprint and shows how much you've reduced by meeting targets. By completing the goals, you can earn points (coins), and then you can use these points for purchases (while these points can only be used to buy T-shirts with the project's logo, but it is planned to be applied in wider areas in the near future).

Detailed information about the project can be obtained from the official website of the project:
