Members of Public Council observe exam process at BEU

Members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education have visited Baku Engineering University (BEU) to observe the exam session of the autumn semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.

Rector of BEU, Professor Havar Mammadov said that the next exam session was held in accordance with the relevant instructions and regulations, and all conditions were created in the auditoriums. He noted that in order to ensure transparency and objectivity in the assessment of students' knowledge, to monitor the progress of the examination session, to receive appeals, as well as to investigate, the Headquarters and Appeals Commission functioned. Touching upon the importance of public control, the rector stressed that it played an important role in the development of effective relations between the university and the public, maintaining transparency and protecting the rights of students.

Chairman of the Public Council, Professor Shahlar Asgarov, Deputy Chairman, Education Expert Nadir Israfilov, Executive Secretary, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Ilgar Orujov, members - Doctor of Philosophy Etibar Aliyev, Chairman of the Republican Board of Education, Professor Hikmet Alizada, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of Free Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Education Workers Mirza Jafarzada together with the heads of the relevant departments of the University visited the auditoriums where the exams were held and closely observed the exams. They listened to the students' opinions on the exams and got acquainted with the exam questions.

Members of the Public Council highly appreciated the progress of the examination process, and noted that the exams were held in a transparent manner at BEU. At the same time, they praised the necessary measures taken to prevent all possible negative situations.

Then the guests got acquainted with the material and technical base of BEU, as well as the Biology Laboratory. It was noted that as a continuation of the works done to equip BEU's laboratories and individual auditoriums with the latest equipment, new smart boards, monoblocks, computers, laptops, projectors, multifunctional printers, etc. were purchased. Council members highly appreciated the fact that BEU had a modern material and technical base, and emphasized that it played an important role in the quality of education.
