Meetings held with students admitted to BEU-INHA dual degree program

Meetings have been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) with students admitted to the University's Information Technologies, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering Departments under BEU-INHA dual degree program in the 2021/2022 academic year.

The event was attended by Humay Jafarli, Director General of BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program, Hyunjin Yang, INHA Project Director of BEU-INHA DDP, Sevinj Iskanderova, Senior Specialist of BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program, Osman Mirzayev, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at Enginnering Faculty, Parviz Mammadov, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Vugar Muradov, Deputy Dean for Scientific Affairs at the Faculty of Architecture and Construction, and Hamed Kaghazchi, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Automation and Electric Power.

H.Jafarli and Hyunjin Yang congratulated the students admitted to the dual degree program and wished them success in their educational activities.

Speaking about the program in detail, S.Iskandarova noted its advantages. She said that under the dual degree program, students would study 3 academic years at BEU and 1 academic year (last year) at INHA University in South Korea. During the study period, students will be taught Korean language classes, which are a condition of the program to develop relevant language skills, and they will take exams to obtain a TOPIK certificate. The program also envisages the participation of students in a 3-week summer school in South Korea at the end of the second year. Noting that the current program was fully funded by the state, S.Iskandarova stressed that students would receive two diplomas at the end of 4 years.

During the meetings, students were informed about BEU Student Information System (TIS), assessment of student knowledge, organization of education, conducting exams and re-examinations, as well as the electronic library. Moreover, Informed about Information about the existing student organizations at the University, including the Student Scientific Society, the Student Youth Organization, the Student Trade Union Committee was given to the participants. It was noted that student clubs operating at BEU played a very important role in enriching the social and scientific life of students.

The events also touched upon the issues of students' discipline and compliance with the requirements of the existing pandemic conditions.

After the meetings, a level exam was organized to check the English language skills of the students and place them in the relevant groups.

It should be noted that BEU and Inha University of South Korea have been accepting students for the bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Electrical Engineering for the second year in a row.
