Representatives of Student Loan Fund have visited Baku Engineering University (BEU).
The meeting aims to discuss the organization of joint awareness-raising activities on student loans and consider opportunities for closer cooperation with the University.
Deputy Chairman of the Board at Student Loan Fund Bahruz Azimov greeted the participants on behalf of the administration of the organization he represented. It was noted that the Fund was established by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated June 17, 2021 to ensure access to education for low-income people, create equal opportunities for education and expand the scope of education.
Noting that the applications of students for the 2021-2022 academic year were being registered, the Deputy Chairman emphasized statistical information, and added that the applications for the spring semester were currently underway. B.Azimov provided detailed information about social and standard forms of student loans. Touching upon the comparisons based on international experience and adding that loans were provided at the lowest interest rates in Azerbaijan, the Fund official pointed out that the opportunity created by the President would increase the motivation of students and affect the quality of education.
BEU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Hamzagha Orujov expressed his pleasure to see the representatives of the Fund at the University. He spoke in detail about the state's care for education and projects implemented in this direction. Hamzagha Orujov stressed the significance of organizing meetings with students on the issuance of education loans and made a number of suggestions for students to benefit more from the existing system.
Bayram Huseynzadeh, BEU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, touched upon the measures taken by the authorities of the country regarding students studying on a paid basis. Highlighting a number of state programs on human capital development in our country, the Vice-Rector said that the human factor was at the heart of Azerbaijan's domestic policy and stressed the importance of the Student Loan Fund serving to provide financial support to students from more vulnerable families.
The speeches stated the e-services available at BEU and the importance of these services to inform students about the issuance of loans.
Furthermore, Agja Mammadova, Assistant to the Chairman of the Board at Student Loan Fund, Agamusa Isazada, Information Technology Specialist, and Ramil Hajiyev, Head of the Education Department at Beu took the floor.
At the end, discussions were held on the proposals for the issuance of education loans.
