Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted a meeting with Filiz Demiroz, head of the ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Turkey Cluster, and Ulgen Kiymik Coskun, Market Development and Expansion Manager of Turkey Cluster. The meeting, organized to develop cooperation with ACCA, establish relations on a new level, inform about the activities of the Association, was attended by the academic staff of the Faculty of Economics and of BEU, employees of the Finance Department of the University, as well as a representative of the State Examination Center (SEC).
First, the guests were informed in detail about the history of BMU, its activities, as well as the advantages and opportunities created for students and graduates of the university. The work carried out at BEU in such areas, including the cooperation with private and public institutions for the employment of graduates, the steps taken to continue their education in world-renowned universities, to work in prestigious companies was discussed.
Later, Filiz Demiroz delivered a presentation on the history of the Association. She noted that ACCA, the world's largest accounting organization, had 227,000 members in 179 countries, and its certificates and diplomas were recognized and accepted by international companies.
Speaking about the ACCA qualification, Filiz Demiroz emphasized that these standards reflected the requirements of the international labor market in the fields of finance, accounting and auditing, as well as formed professional knowledge and skills.
Ulgen Kıymık Coşkun provided information about Association accreditation procedures, access to ACCA resources, technical capabilities.
The meeting also pointed out that strengthening the cooperation between SEC and ACCA, new cooperations with higher education institutions would be useful. It was noted that the teaching of accounting at BEU was fully in line with the ACCA curriculum, and the lessons and exam questions met the requirements of this institution. Many students and graduates of the University were members of ACCA, and among them are first place winners in the exam sessions of the organization in the world, as well as in Azerbaijan.
Afterwards, the meeting participants voiced their opinions and proposals, and the sides exchanged views on topics of mutual interest.
At the end of the meeting, the guests got acquainted with the laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of BEU.
