The next meeting of the Scientific Council has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Rector of BEU, Professor Havar Mammadov congratulated the members of the Council on the upcoming November 8 -Victory Day. The rector spoke about the historic victory of our glorious Army over the enemy under the leadership of Victorious Commander-in Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the rapid construction work carried out in the last year after the war in Karabakh and East Zangazur.
Then, Havar Mammadov acquainted the meeting participants with the issues on the agenda.
The meeting heard reports by BEU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Hamzaga Orujov on the application of the credit system and the state of teaching and methodological work at the university, and Vice-Rector for Finance and Economy Elchin Zeynalov on preparations for the winter season.
There was a wide exchange of views on both reports. Ways to overcome the existing problems were discussed and the reports were considered satisfactory.
The Scientific Council considered assigning guides to the newly admitted of PhD. students and candidates to doctoral studies under the Doctor of Philosophy program, approval of the dissertation topic, individual work plan, scientific supervisor of each of them. The Information given by the head of Graduate Studies and Doctoral Department, professor Mahir Bashirov on the mentioned directions was heard.
At the event, Secretary of the Scientific Council Nasimi Kamalov provided relevant information on the sending of documents of two BEU employees to the Higher Attestation Commission to receive the title of associate professor. Following the discussions, a separate vote was held in accordance with existing rules and a decision was made.
Later, BEU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Bayram Huseynzadeh spoke about other issues on the agenda. Some issues of the agenda were discussed such as a number of necessary changes to the University's disciplinary rules taking into account the conditions caused by the pandemic, 3 students' whose parents were disabled during the Second Karabakh War being exempted from dormitory expenses, and 1 student's who was a participant of the Second Karabakh War being exempted from tuition fee.
Speeches were made on the above-mentioned issues, positive decisions were made after hearing proposals and opinions.
