Rector of Baku Engineering University Yagub Piriyev has met with Korean teachers involved in teaching at the “Summer School” for students within the framework of the dual diploma program (BEU-INHA DDP) implemented jointly with INHA University of Korea.
Welcoming the guests, the rector emphasized the importance of the “State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023”, approved by the relevant decree of President Ilham Aliyev, and the BMU-INHA DDP, which is an integral part of this program, serves to train highly qualified personnel. It was noted that last year 61 students graduated from the program, and this year 82 students completed the program, and a “Graduation Day” will be held for them on July 17. Yagub Piriyev expressed his gratitude to the management and teaching staff of INHA University, noting that the program provided the students with the necessary knowledge and skills. Highlighting the importance of strengthening cooperation between BEU and INHA, the rector touched upon the Letter of Intent signed for this purpose last year. Recalling that the document envisages full scholarships for 10% of graduates of the program with high academic performance if they are admitted to INHA University's master's programs, Yagub Piriyev drew attention to the fact that there are already some graduates who have received scholarships.
Emphasizing that the traditional “Summer School” played a positive role in increasing the literacy and experience of students, the rector wished success to teachers and students in the continuation of the educational process.
Speaking at the meeting, INHA University teachers expressed their gratitude for the favorable conditions created for the “Summer School”. It was noted in the speeches that the 15-member faculty has already started teaching in various subjects and that students are showing great interest in these lessons, which serve to increase theoretical and practical knowledge. INHA teachers, who expressed their satisfaction with teaching Azerbaijani students, also shared their pleasant impressions about our country.
The meeting ended with the presentation of gifts to the INHA University faculty and taking commemorative photos.
