Meeting held with BEU students to continue their studies in China

A meeting was held with the first group of students who will continue their education in the People's Republic of China within the framework of the dual diploma program between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), which began to be implemented this year.

Expressing his sincere congratulations to the students at the event, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev recalled that the program implemented jointly with PKTU, one of the leading higher education institutions in China, covers the specialties of Chemical, Computer and Mechanical Engineering. He noted that this is the first dual diploma program implemented at the undergraduate level between Azerbaijani and Chinese universities. According to the 2+2 model, students who successfully complete the I and II courses at BEU will study the next courses in China after passing the relevant selection and procedures. In the end, they will receive a diploma from both universities.

Emphasizing the friendly relations based on mutual trust between President Ilham Aliyev and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, Yagub Piriyev noted that the highest attitude shown to the Azerbaijani leader at the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, including the abolition of the visa regime between the two countries, is another clear example of the upward development of relations. He added that the work carried out within the framework of the strategic line determined by the leaders of the two friendly countries also makes a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation in the field of education.

The rector mentioned that the knowledge and experience that BEU students who will continue their education in China will gain are of particular importance not only for their personal development, but also for the further development of Azerbaijani-Chinese relations and the strengthening of our country's scientific and technological potential. Yagub Piriyev pointed out that the integration of young people into the global scientific environment and the training of highly qualified engineering personnel occupy a special place in the development strategy of our country, giving the students his recommendations on representing Azerbaijan worthily, working hard and justifying the trust shown. Moreover, he expressed his confidence that they would make valuable contributions to the development of our country's engineering, industrial and technological sectors in the future.

During other speeches at the event, it was noted that high conditions have been created for students in China, and important points regarding the necessary procedures of the visit and the educational process were brought to attention.

Students who will continue their education at BUCT will leave for China on September 8 of this year.
