A meeting has been organized in a discussion format at Baku Engineering University (BEU) together with the Azerbaijan Education Workers' Free Trade Union Republican Committee (ATIAHI).
Speaking first, Rector Yagub Piriyev emphasized that the meeting was one of the next steps taken to strengthen relations between BEU and ATIAHI and regulate relations on the basis of more effective cooperation. The rector touched upon the measures implemented by ATIAHI in recent times, positively assessing its activities in terms of protecting the rights of education workers, adhering to the principles of social equality and justice. Noting the active support of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Trade Unions and the ATIAHI Republican Committee to the state's youth policy, the rector listed various measures taken to strengthen their social protection and develop their potential. As one of such projects, Yagub Piriyev drew attention to the significant increase in the number of students eligible for the "Named Scholarship" in the current academic year, adding that BEU students were among these young people.
Later, the Chairman of the ATIAHI Republican Committee Araz Pashayev made a speech and stated that the cooperation between the university and the trade union has been developed in a more coordinated, organized and beneficial manner in recent times. Stating that the main goal of today's meeting was to explain the innovations implemented by the union and clarify the issues of interest to the teaching staff, the Chairman of the Committee provided extensive information on the implemented measures. He also brought to attention the innovations related to referrals to health and recreation areas, the steps taken in strengthening the material and technical base of the recreation centers under the organization, electronicization, and the projects planned for implementation in the future.
During the meeting, which continued with discussions, the proposals of the participants were listened to and the issues of interest to them were clarified.
