An online meeting has been held between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the administrative staff of Termez Institute of Engineering and Technology of Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, Rector of BEU Yagub Piriyev drew attention to the existence of centuries-old historical friendship and fraternal relations between Azerbaijanis and Uzbeks. The Rector emphasized the outstanding services of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the further development of these relations and in the formation of interstate relations. Stating that Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations have reached a high level under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the head of the higher education institution added that active cooperation is being implemented in all fields. Yagub Piriyev pointed out that the construction of a full secondary school named after Mirza Ulugbey in the liberated city of Fuzuli, Uzbekistan, and its opening with the participation of the Presidents of the two countries are clear indicators of brotherly and friendly relations. Furthermore, he informed about the reconstruction and restoration works currently carried out by our state in Karabakh and East Zangezur in accordance with the concept of "smart city" and "smart village".
Noting that the field of education has a special importance in the existing cooperation between the two countries, the rector expressed his belief that the relations to be established between BEU and Termez Institute of Engineering and Technology will contribute to this development.
Later, Yagub Piriyev gave detailed information about the history of BEU, the university campus, educational directions, students, teachers and professors, specializations, faculties and departments, specialist training at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels of education, etc.
Rector of Termez Institute of Engineering and Technology Ural Choriyevich Ahmadov expressed his satisfaction with the development of friendship, brotherhood and strategic partnership relations established between our countries. Informing the participants of the meeting about the history of the higher educational institution he leads, directions of activity, specialties, etc, the Rector touched upon that they are interested in establishing cooperative relations with BEU.
Afterwards, at the meeting, issues of mutual interest such as the development of cooperation in various specialties (information technology, electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering), the organization of teacher and student exchange, and the exchange of positive experiences gained in some areas were considered. It was decided to organize regular visits between the parties, as well as to continue meetings at the Working Group level.
