Rector of Baku Engineering University(BEU), professor Havar Mammadov has met with the representatives of International Innovation Cooperation Center of Science and Technology Policy Institute of South Korea Eun Joo Kim, head of training team, So Hyun Kwon, project coordinator, and Jong in Choi, professor of Hanbat National University.
Rector H.Mammadov emphasized successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Korea in many fields, including education. Noting the works carried out in the direction of human capital development and high-level labor market creation in the recent years under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, H. Mammadov also spoke about the fruitful cooperation with Korea in the field of education.
The rector gave detailed information about the activity directions, modern material-technical base, Technopark, laboratories of the University. He added that BEU was interested in cooperation with STEPI on the establishing scientific and technical research, artificial intelligence and research laboratories, as well as conducting joint research on automation and robotics.
Eun Joo Kim, head of Global Training Program Team at International innovation Cooperation Center of STEPI, underlined the activities and purpose of the organization that he represented. He emphasized that STEPI was the main research center in South Korea. The purpose of cooperation with the relevant educational institutions in Azerbaijan is to assist in the development of an innovative system for universities.
Moreover, Professor of Hanbat National University Jong in Choi expressed interest in cooperation with BEU. He suggested the implementation of student exchange program between universities.
Initial agreement was reached regarding the issues being discussed. Joint works for taking appropriate steps in the direction of cooperation are expected to be carried out during the visit of STEPI administration to Azerbaijan in early 2020.
