Korean Culture Day has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Rector Yagub Piriyev spoke at the event attended by BEU employees, students and representatives of the Global Education Project Group of the Republic of Korea (South) INHA University, who are on a visit to our country, noting that such events give a great impetus to the development of relations, and also create a mutual broad understanding of the culture of the countries.
Emphasizing that Korea is currently among the economically dynamically developing advanced countries, the rector also pointed out that this country with ancient historical roots has interesting traditions and culture. Yagub Piriyev said that Korea has achieved great success, especially in the field of information technologies, and mentioned the dual degree program (DDP) jointly implemented between BEU and INHA University in the field of engineering specialties at the bachelor's level. The rector advised the students of the program to read well and get to know the language and culture of this country. Moreover, he added that in the field of better familiarization of Azerbaijani culture in Korea, the students who are currently continuing their studies in the 4th course of the program at INHA University have certain responsibilities.
Then Yang Hyunjin, project director of BEU-INHA DDP, Min Kyung Jin, dean of Global Education Project Group of INHA University spoke. In the speeches, it was pointed out that there are many similarities in the culture of Azerbaijan and Korea, despite the long distances, and it was emphasized that the organization of cultural events was important in terms of mutual promotion of knowledge about the countries and the formation of a complete picture. Furthermore, thanks were expressed to the administration of BEU for organizing such an event, and it was reported that Azerbaijan Culture Day was celebrated at INHA University a month ago.
The event continued with the artistic part prepared by BEU-INHA DDP students.
