IT "Bootcamp" for students at BEU

An additional opportunity has been created for students to better master various fields of information technology (IT) during the winter holiday at Baku Engineering University (BEU). Thus, the first and second year students were involved in the "Bootcamp 6.0" project, which has been running for 6 year.

Out of more than 70 students registered this year, 35 people had the opportunity to attend classes within the framework of the project. Students selected on the basis of various criteria had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in classes held in certain fields. The main goal of the project is to teach additional knowledge to those who want to continue their future in the IT field.

The highlight of the project is that the classes are held free of charge by BEU senior students who have relevant experience. Another interesting point is that the project is continued every year by the participants of the previous year.

Moreover, meetings on "Google Meet" are also organized for students. Participants can meet people with experience in various fields of IT, get additional information and find answers to questions. Furthermore, for the social development of students, various games are played during the inter-class break and efforts are made to develop speech skills.

During the project, participants are taught areas, including SQL, cyber security, Java SE, Android (Java), "Front-End" (introduction), "Advanced Front-End" and "Kotlin". Guest experts involved in the project share their experience in the fields of Data analytics, Back-End development, cyber security, Product management, Pentest, ML and AI, Devops, IT soft skills and graphic design.

Of note, after the end of the IT "Bootcamp" every year, the positive feedback from the students and their desire to participate as organizers in the following years are an indication of the effectiveness of the project. At the same time, a number of students who participated in the project have already joined internship programs in various fields of IT in well-known companies and started working.
