Rector of Baku Engineering University (BEU) Yagub Piriyev has met with the delegation of Hungarian John von Neumann University.
Emphasizing the high-level dialogue and strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary, the Rector noted that the friendly countries cooperate successfully within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States and other international institutions. Drawing attention to the effective cooperation of the two countries in many fields, as well as in the humanitarian field, Yagub Piriyev emphasized that within the framework of the "Stipendium Hungaricum" scholarship program, 200 people are given scholarships every year for the purpose of studying Azerbaijani youth in Hungary.
Later, the Rector gave extensive information about the history of the institution of higher education, the student-teacher staff, majors and faculties, the international programs and projects it is involved in, directions of scientific research activities, etc to the guests .
Emphasizing the existence of great potential for establishing close relations with John von Neumann University, which is a young higher education institution, in directions such as teacher-student exchange, joint participation in scientific research projects, Yagub Piriyev spoke about future plans and innovations, possible cooperation in new specialties. The Rector informed the guests about the construction works and "green energy" projects in Karabakh and East Zangezur, which were freed from occupation under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, and also emphasized the restoration of research works at BEU on obtaining alternative energy sources and in general the importance of joint cooperation in this field.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, John von Neumann University Vice-rector for academic affairs Norberta Sagi spoke about the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary. Moreover, he noted that there is mutual interest and wide opportunities for further deepening of these relations in the field of education.
Zsolt Ferenc Kovacs, Vice-rector for science of the university, and Erno Keskeni, adviser on international relations, informed about various researches, projects and innovations carried out at the higher educational institution.
Afterwards, Narmin Alakbarova, head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management of BEU, made a broad presentation about BEU.
At the meeting, the main directions of future relations between the two higher education institutions were considered, and it was decided to further strengthen the cooperation
