An informative seminar was organized on April 23 by the Department of Computer and Information Technologies of the Faculty of Engineering and the Department of International Relations and Project Management under the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations.
The purpose of the seminar was to discuss the international relations of the University, the programs and projects in which it participated, projects that could be developed within the foreign universities with teachers and administrators of the University.
Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Manafaddin Namazov opened the seminar and spoke about the current state, opportunities and obstacles of the university's international relations, as well as solutions. Emphasizing the importance of the university staff's interest and activity in the development of international relations, as well as in the preparation of projects, M.Namazov said that the Department of International Relations and Project Management was always ready to support this work.
Arif Najimov, Head of the International Relations and Project Management Department, informed the participants about the University's existing international relations, programs and projects in which it participated, as well as agreements and universities for signed cooperation and exchange programs.
The head of the Department of Computer and Information Technologies Babek Abbasov and senior lecturer Ali Hasanov gave information about the first meeting of “Development of Master's Programs in Mobile Programming and Game Design at Partner Universities (MAGnUS)” project held in Linkoping, Sweden on April 2-6 as part of the Erasmus + KA2 project. It was noted that it was the first time that BEU was selected as the leader of the 5th work package of the project "Dissemination (propaganda and agitation)", the leading university among the three higher education institutions participating as partners from Azerbaijan. Two other universities from Azerbaijan in the project were selected as ancillary universities for other work packages.
Later, Ulker Abdurahmanova, a leading specialist of Graduate Studies and Doctoral Department under the Vice-Rectorate for Scientific Affairs, spoke about the participation of BEU in the Erasmus + KA2 project "Reconstruction and development of education at doctoral level in Azerbaijan in accordance with the requirements of European Higher Education" (Nizami), the results obtained and the plans to use them in the future activities of the department. She added that continuous seminars and trainings for PhD. students will be launched in May this year, and the necessary support will be provided for the timely defense of doctoral students' dissertations.
At the seminar, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Elchin Suleymanov spoke about the importance of Nizami and other projects for the university. He said that the most useful result of the Nizami project was the National Management Portal created for the use of doctoral students and the international experience gained during the project.
At the end of the seminar, the speakers answered the questions of the participants.
