Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted a visit to Italy's Sapienza University of Rome within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 project "ITACA - Innovative Training Center to support a 3rd cycle Advanced Education Course to face Environmental Emergency in Azerbaijan" and an information day about the work done so far .

 At the event, senior lecturers of the Department of Industrial Engineering of BEU Etibar Kahramanov, Mammad Huseynov, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering Yusif Abdullayev made presentations on the results of the mentioned visit.

Moreover, detailed information was given on two research directions carried out by BEU employees on the project. The speakers talked about the bioremediation of oil-contaminated soils on the Absheron Peninsula and the methods of determining and recultivating the morphogenetic characteristics of oil-contaminated soils on the Absheron Peninsula, laboratory analyzes of oil-contaminated soil samples taken from the Bibiheybat area, the equipment used, the analysis of soils taken from different parts of the peninsula with the equipment established in the Training Center, and the results obtained. 

In addition, at the meeting, the "CAMPAIGNers" project implemented within the "Horizon 2020" Program, its directions, as well as new projects and goals that will be implemented with the participation of BEU employees in the future, were highlighted.
