Info Session on Introducing the Society of Chemical Engineers at BEU

An information session for students was held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) to introduce the Society of Chemical Engineers (SChE)

Speaking at the info session, Mayiz Azizov, Director of the Science and Innovation Department at BEU, stated that engaging students in scientific activities at the university is of particular importance for the development of their knowledge and skills. It was noted that the Society of Chemical Engineers plays a significant role in stimulating students' research interests, forming an innovative mindset, and ensuring more active participation in the academic environment. Furthermore, in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), the society supports the strengthening of university-industry cooperation and innovation through startups and research projects.

Ravan Rahimov, Head of the Food and Biotechnology Department at BEU, emphasized the importance of research and innovation in the field of chemical engineering and called on students to be more active in scientific initiatives.   

Subsequently, the society's chairman Alovsat Abasov and deputy Arzu Shafiyeva delivered presentations about SChE's activities, objectives, and future plans. The presentations highlighted that SChE organizes various events for students, such as scientific seminars, laboratory training, and industry visits. These activities not only enhance students' practical knowledge but also make significant contributions to their professional development and the formation of teamwork skills

During the info session, it was noted that the society serves as an open platform that encourages creativity for students studying chemical engineering, both for collective discussion of subject knowledge and for sharing research ideas.

The event concluded with answering students' questions.
