A hackathon has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) within the framework of the “Academic Entrepreneurship-Based Startup and Incubation Program” project, organized with the support of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency.

The hackathon, which took place in the university’s Technopark, was attended by teachers, bachelors and masters. 22 teams presented startup projects on new solutions to problems in the fields of cybersecurity, green energy solutions, digitalization in education, green finance, and sustainable investments.

The most successful projects were selected and awarded by the jury during the 2-day hackathon. The “Bioplastik” project, 1st place, was awarded 3,000 manats, the “Green Guest” project, 2nd place, 2,000 manats, and the “Brain Battle” project, 3rd place, 1,000 manats.

It is planned to involve 10 startup projects in the incubation program to be organized in the next stage within the framework of “Academic Entrepreneurship-Based Startup and Incubation Program” project.

It should be noted that the “Academic Entrepreneurship-Based Startup and Incubation Program” project aims to prepare teacher-mentors for the innovation ecosystem by developing the academic entrepreneurial skills of individuals engaged in academic activities and to ensure the introduction of new startups to the market through their participation..
