Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted an online defense of dissertations of graduate students majoring in financial management. The master’s degree students defended their researches before a specialized scientific council.

Students presented modern and practical research on the topics on tax reforms in Azerbaijan, the possibility of applying property and land taxes in Azerbaijan based on international experience, credit rating agencies, the impact of fluctuations in oil prices on state budget revenues, analysis of the relationship between the stock market and forex market, and etc.

After the presentations, discussions were held on the topic, and young researchers answered questions addressed to them.

Speaking after the assessment of the defense, the chairman of the specialized scientific council, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Elchin Suleymanov has noted that each dissertation had touched on a very topical issue and the issues had been studied in detail.

Professor Saleh Mammadov, a member of the Council and an employee of the Finance Department, noted that despite the fact that the education was online, the masters worked hard throughout the year, the consultation hours were effective and therefore the results were good.

Speaking at the end, the head of Finance Department, PhD. in Economics Fuzuli Aliyev congratulated the graduate students on the successful defense of the dissertations and noted that some researches should be continued. He also added that the masters already have academic degrees and will be able to cooperate with BEU in the future.
