A lecture on the topic “Youth in the Azerbaijan Labour Market” has been held for first-year students of the Finance Department at Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Economist expert Rovshan Jamalov participated as a guest speaker in the lecture organized within the framework of the “Career Planning” subject. The meeting, held in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially the 4th direction - “Quality Education”, aimed to contribute to increasing the knowledge and skills of young people and their more effective integration into the labour market.
First, the senior lecturer of the Finance and Accounting Department of BEU Eddin Mushtagov emphasized the importance of professional choice and career planning. He stressed the importance of developing practical skills in addition to theoretical knowledge for students to enter the labour market as competitive specialists in the future.
Later, economist expert Rovshan Jamalov provided information on the current state of the labour market, the level of youth employment, new trends, and the requirements of the business world. The lecture highlighted statistical analyses in this direction, as well as factors hindering the development of skills in the labour market, the difficulties faced by young people in the recruitment process, and the role of the education system in solving these problems. It was noted that the development of practical skills in universities is of particular importance for young people to enter the labour market more prepared. In order to succeed in their careers, young people must adapt flexibly to changing trends, improve their skills in using modern technologies, and maintain themselves in continuous development. The speaker also provided practical advice to students on professional development.
At the end, an interactive discussion was held and students' questions were answered.
