The next event has been held at the Pedagogical Faculty of the Baku Engineering University (BEU) as part of the "Science Week".
Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev gave general information about the departments and specialties taught at the faculty.
Touching upon the research activities, the dean noted that 80 articles of the faculty staff were published last year. 47 articles were published in the country and 33 abroad, 5 of which were published in impact magazines.
E.Abdullayev stressed that through the year faculty employees organized the international seminars entitled “The impact of cosmic weather condition on on-surface infrastructure” and “The boundaries in Math” and they also took responsibility to organize certain sectors at “IV International Scientific Conference of the Young Researchers” dedicated to the 97th aniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. In total, 29 scientific theses were submitted, 12 of them abroad and 17 in the country.
The dean added that the faculty staff prepared 3 monographs, 4 textbooks, 26 subject programs and teaching aids.
BEU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Elchin Suleymanov noted that after the cooperation agreement signed between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters), the world's largest electronic scientific-analytical database, in 2015, scientific activity in the country's universities increased significantly.
E. Suleymanov spoke about the scientific parameters of BEU, as well as the inclusion of faculty members in these indicators, and thanked the faculty staff for their contribution to the impact factor publications.
Emphasizing that the chairman of the Student Scientific Society was a student of this faculty, E.Suleymanov added that the students of the Education faculty are also very active,
The Vice-Rector informed the participants about the awards, rules and procedures for awarding BEU employees, whose articles were published in prestigious scientific publications.
The event continued with information on the effective use of Web of Science and Scopus databases, as well as the importance of opening an individual researcher's profile.
