Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted an educational event named "We Can Do It" on diabetes. The main objective was to focus on the fight against diabetes and promote a healthy lifestyle through enlightenment.

During the event, booklets reflecting information on the disease and its treatment were distributed.

Detailed information was provided about diabetes at the event organized by the Department of Chemistry and Biology. Afag Rzayeva, lecturer of the Department, brought to the attention that the disease caused serious social problems and could be a serious threat to human life if untreated. She emphasized that each of us should be aware of the signs of diabetes and the ways of preventing  its complications

Later, presentations about symptoms of diabetes, people at risk, and the ways of protecting them from disease were delivered.

It should be noted that “The State Program on diabetes for 2016-2020” was adopted in Azerbaijan in order to fight against diabetes. The State Program aims to reduce morbidity, disability and mortality by improving prevention and treatment of diabetes.
