During the quarantine period, BEU SYO supports older people in need of care

About 30 online trainings have been held to effectively organize students' time

The Student Youth Organization (SYO) of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has organized all the online trainings scheduled for the spring semester in connection with the current epidemic. During the quarantine period, BEU SYO conducted a total of about 30 online trainings in order to effectively organize students’ leisure time.

BEU SYO organized online meeting with he Executive Director of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farid Jafarov on “Opportunities for youth. Realize the idea”. The meeting focused on opportunities for young people within the activities of the Youth Foundation, projects implemented, financing of education costs, grant competitions, support for participation in internship programs and events of international organizations. The webinar was attended by more than 200 young people, including BEU students and students from other universities.

Moreover, a webinar on "Career Planning" was held by Nadir Adilov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The webinar, which was attended by more than 200 students, answered their questions.

Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology, psychologist Gunel Aslanova held a webinar on " Management and elimination of stress in youth". During the webinar, young people were informed about various strategies and methods of coping with stress during the quarantine period, and their questions on the topic were answered.

A lecture was given by Bahman Gudsi (Mammadov), a senior lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics of BEU, within the framework of the “YOUR Teacher” project. The lecture provided detailed information on the place and importance of the history of mathematics in the teaching of mathematics, as well as what scientists and philosophers' knowledge of mathematics contributed to their creativity.

Narmin Davidova, Head of the Secretariat of the Power of Thought - "Support to Individual Development of Youth" Public Union  held a training on “What is motivation?, How to be motivated?”. The training provided information on motivational books and answered students' questions.

The trainings on “Scouting. Healthy lifestyle” by the member of the World Organization of Scout Management Ilyas Ismayilli, "Hidden aspects of our lives" by tranee trainer Rovshan Sharif, "Breath without phobia" by trainer Fidan Akbar,  "Our National Identity" by historian Ramin Huseynsoy, and "Literary Success" by NLP specialist, Turkish trainer Furkan Soslu need special emphasis. 

The last training held in the spring semester was organized by Isa Gasimov, associate professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering of BEU, as well as the head of the Technopark on "Career book". Along with BEU students, students from other universities also participated in the virtual training.

Furthermore, in connection with the current pandemic conditions, "Stay at home, do not stay without reading!" and "OUR DOCTORS" videos were prepared with the participation of BEU SYO.

During the quarantine period, 10 active members of the BEU SYO joined the Coordination Center of Azerbaijani Volunteers and took part in the "Volunteer Donor", "Volunteer Neighbor" and "Let's Protect Each Other" campaigns. SYO members joined the "Volunteer Neighbor" campaign to support elderly people in need who could not leave their homes to buy food and medicine, as well as to dispose of household waste.

At the same time, BEU SYO recorded all the trainings in order to contribute to the development of more students and provided opportunities for students who wanted to benefit from the video, as well as organized live broadcasts from SYO’s Instagram accounts.
