Preliminary discussion of dissertation work of assoc.prof. Rakib Afandiyev, head of Mathematics Department of Education Faculty of BEU, for doctor of mathematical sciences on "Direct and inverse problems for non-self-coupled Hill operator" in specialty 1211.01-Differential equations has been held. The discussion took place at the joint meeting of the departments of "Functional analysis", "Differential equations" and "Non-harmonic analysis" of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS.

Moreover, the discussion of the dissertation of Chinara Hajiyeva, a teacher of Mathematics Department at BEU on the PhD. in Mathematics  "Approximations of hypersingular integral operators and their applications" in 1202.01-Analysis and functional analysis specialty was held.  The discussion of the dissertation was organized at the meeting of the Scientific seminar on the discussion of the dissertations of the doctor of sciences and philosophy under the dissertation council ED 1.04 of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS.

Both dissertations were admitted to the next stage for defense.
