Delegation from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University Visit BEU

A delegation from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) of the Republic of Lithuania, currently on a visit to our country, held a meeting at Baku Engineering University (BEU)

Providing information to the guests about the university's activities and international relations, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev stated in his remarks that the Azerbaijani state pays special attention to the education of young people abroad, and brought to attention the state programs implemented in this direction through decrees of President Ilham Aliyev. Speaking about the dual degree program implemented between BEU and INHA University of South Korea among fully state-funded programs, the rector also touched upon new bilateral projects initiated in this direction with Chinese universities. The rector noted that BEU has been actively developing its international partnership policy in recent years and attaches great importance to close cooperation with recognized higher education institutions in the European education space. Emphasizing that BEU is open to new experience exchange through international cooperation, Yagub Piriyev expressed confidence that collaboration with VILNIUS TECH, one of the prestigious higher education institutions of the Baltic countries, would have a positive impact on the quality of teaching and research activities.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, VILNIUS TECH Professor Dr. Dalius Mazeika provided information about the university. He stated that the university he represents is one of the leading state higher education institutions in the fields of engineering, technology, applied sciences and innovation. The university implements research projects in the areas of smart cities, green energy, robotics technologies, aviation systems, transport engineering and information technologies

During the meeting, discussions were held on strengthening academic and scientific cooperation, exchange and dual degree programs, as well as joint research initiatives

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation became acquainted with BEU's campus, laboratories and research environment

Subsequently, a seminar and information session were organized for students of BEU's SABAH program with the participation of delegation members. During the events, university Professor Vidas Zuraulis delivered a presentation on "AI in Engineering - Transport Engineering," while Professor Dalius Mazeika, Chief Manager of the International Studies Center Viktorija Pliuskiene, and Director of Aloha World Study Abroad Company Sabuhi Aghayev made presentations on scholarship education opportunities in Lithuania. During the meetings, students were also provided with comprehensive information about specialties taught at VILNIUS TECH, dormitories, scholarship programs, student life, visa and residence permits, as well as admission requirements, and questions of interest to students were answered
