Representatives of the Innovation Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan have visited Baku Engineering University (BEU).
First of all, the issues of cooperation were discussed with the heads of the relevant structures of the two institutions. At the meeting, the guests gave detailed information about the activities of the Innovation Agency, current projects and future plans. It was noted that the Agency was a government agency that assisted local entrepreneurs in obtaining modern technology and technological equipment, organized their transfer, as well as supported research based on innovation, stimulated innovative projects and startups.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the Agency started cooperation with the University of South Bohemia in the field of technology transfer. Moreover, the participants were provided with the necessary information about the exchange programs organized by the organization, including the "Slovenian Innovation Exchange Program". All projects wishing to become residents of foreign technoparks, ready to invest and cooperate with foreign universities can apply to the exchange program.
Then, extensive information was provided on the material and technical base of BEU, as well as laboratories equipped with the latest equipment. Moreover, availability of the e-services at BEU, which operated as an e-university, were highlighted, as well as the university's human resources, student contingent and graduate base were highlighted. It was noted that BEU students found jobs in the labor market, constant work was being done to develop the relationship between production and personnel in the labor market, and assistance was being provided to provide graduates with jobs in accordance with their specialties.
The guests were also informed about the activities of BEU Technopark and Innovation Center. It was noted that Technopark, which paid special attention to strengthening the local and foreign business network, formed an innovative ecosystem by actively working with both residents and startups, as well as various startup competitions and "New Idea VI" startup competition were empahsized. It was also added that a mobile application had been developed to teach the Azerbaijani language to foreigners.
During the discussions, a dual degree program with INHA University of South Korea in 4 specialties (Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering) and the work done in this direction over the past two years were stressed.
At the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the relationship between science and industry, including support for startup projects, the commercialization of research results and other areas, as well as the signing of a memorandum between the two institutions, and proposals were heard.
At the end, the Agency's representatives got acquainted with the material and technical base of BEU, including the Technopark, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering laboratories.
