Within the framework of the "Global Sustainable Development Congress" organized by the Times Higher Education (THE) rating agency in Istanbul, Türkiye (June 16-19), issues of cooperation between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and a number of higher education institutions have been discussed.
At a meeting with the management team of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev provided information about the higher education institution he represents. The Rector spoke about the increase in the number of information technology (IT) specialties in recent years, the creation of a new Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies, drawing attention to possible areas of cooperation between the two universities.
At the meeting, representatives of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology expressed their interest in cooperation with BEU. During the discussions, the implementation of joint programs in IT and "Chemical Engineering" specialties, including student-teacher exchange, and the organization of a summer school, were considered. At the same time, a preliminary agreement was reached on signing a cooperation document.
The meeting between BEU and Düzce University in Türkiye focused on joint cooperation opportunities, implementation of individual student mobility programs based on the "Free Mover" model, mutual academic support, and future cooperation prospects. The parties agreed to continue negotiations and sign a cooperation agreement in this direction in the future. The next meeting of the BEU delegation was held with the University of South Africa. The meeting discussed issues of mutual interest in cooperation, joint scientific research, implementation of relevant bilateral projects, etc.
