Conference Dedicated to September 27 - Remembrance Day held at BEU

A conference dedicated to the fifth anniversary of September 27 - Remembrance Day was held at Baku Engineering University (BEU).

At the event, the cherished memory of our martyrs was first commemorated with a minute of silence, followed by the national anthem.

After watching a video about the history of the Victory Path, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev, who delivered a speech, stated that September 27 was designated as Remembrance Day by Presidential decree as a sign of respect for the memory of the sons of the Fatherland who sacrificed their lives for native lands. The rector, drawing attention to the causes and successful results of the war that began 5 years ago and lasted 44 days, as well as the complete restoration of our sovereignty as a result of the local anti-terror operations carried out by our Army in September 2023, said that this magnificent Victory was achieved thanks to the blood of martyrs, the courage of veterans, the unity of our people, and the determination of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Yagub Piriyev noted that national solidarity, professional leadership, effective military strategy, and the power of our Army forced the enemy to sign a capitulation act. The rector, highlighting President Ilham Aliyev's leadership qualities, his principled stance on national issues, his ability to mobilize society for a unified goal, and his being a strong, world-class politician as important factors conditioning victory, particularly emphasized the impact of the head of state's interviews with foreign media during and after the war on international public opinion. As a result, he characterized the successful prevention of attempts to pressure our country as Azerbaijan's diplomatic success. The rector stated that today, President Ilham Aliyev, through his continuous visits to liberated territories, both shares his joy with the people and clearly demonstrates Azerbaijan's determination to restore and revive Karabakh and East Zangezur in a short time precisely through its own economic capabilities.
