The awarding ceremony for the winners of the final stage of “CanSat Azerbaijan 2019” model satellite competition, organized by “Azercosmos” OJSC jointly with the Ministry of Education, has been held.  “Caucasus_Sat” team of Baku Engineering University(BEU) took the third place and was awarded valuable gifts and certificates. 

It was noted that “CanSat Azerbaijan” competition played a special role in increasing the interest of youth in space technology. The tasks given to young people contribute to the application and development of theoretical and practical knowledge in engineering, electronics, mechanics, and programming.

It should be noted that 38 teams (205 students) from 15 universities attended the competition. The teams consisted mainly of students majoring in mechanical and computer engineering, aerodynamics, process automation, mathematics, physics, and other technical specialties. The results were evaluated by a jury composed of local and international members.
