On the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the “Month of Health and Happiness" is held annually in Turkmenistan on the occasion of April 7 - World Health Day.

    Thus, on April 18, students started sports competitions in football, short-distance running and horizontal bar in the sports complex of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. The competitions are held by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction with the organizational support of other universities.

   The event was attended by the Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Professor Gulchohra Mammadova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan Makan Ishanguliyev, Vice-Rector of Baku Engineering University Bayram Huseynzada and representatives of other educational institutions.

   Speaking at the opening part of the event, the guests noted that this large-scale annual physical education-health and socio-cultural action was of great importance for maintaining the health of the younger generation and the development of the sports movement. They noted that such events contributed to the development of healthy lifestyle policies, promotion of physical education and sports, strengthening international cooperation in health and sports.

    It should be noted that teams consisting of students of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Sumgayit State University, Baku Engineering University, as well as the " Yaşlık " team consisting of Turkmen citizens studying in Azerbaijan took part in these sports competitions.

    The teams of BEU and Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction met in the final stage of the football tournament under the motto "Health and Happiness". In the game that ended in a draw, the team of BEU was awarded the second place with a ball difference in accordance with the rules of the competition.

    The winners and active participants of the competitions were awarded trophies, decrees and souvenirs on behalf of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan.
