Within the framework of the Erasmus + project called "Establishment of the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan" (ECAR), implemented with the financial support of the European Commission, the next visit was organized to the city of Stockholm, Kingdom of Sweden. Elchin Suleymanov, Vice-Rector for scientific affairs of Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Mikayil Zeynalov, Vice-Rector for financial and economic affairs, took part in the trainings attended by 32 representatives from 16 higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan (February 27-March 3).
The main goal of the trainings held at KTH Royal Institute of Technology under the title "The role of rectors' conference in the development of the higher education system" was the development of scientific research and innovation activities in universities.
According to the training program, presentations were made by the executives of the Rectors' Conference in Sweden, the Rectors' Conference in Spain, the European Fund for Management Development (EFMD) of Belgium, the Royal Institute of Technology of Sweden in very important areas such as research and innovation systems in Sweden, Spain and the global environment in general, quality issues in research, publishing infrastructure serving the scientific activity of researchers, as well as doctoral education in the Swedish experience, and the recruitment of doctoral students. Also, there were extensive discussions and exchanges of views related to the presentations. In the course of the training, group work on the activity of the Rectors' Conference was also carried out.
At the end of the program, Gulshan Bayramova, the central director of Baku Business University, the project coordinator, and Elchin Suleymanov, the chairman of the scientific affairs committee created as a pilot within the framework of the ECAR project, the Vice-Rector of BEU, discussed the activities of the project and the important tasks ahead, as well as the future action plan of the mentioned Committee.
