Two student teams of Baku Engineering University (BEU) have won knowledge competition of the Ministry of Science and Education on education, information technologies (IT) and engineering dedicated to the "Year of Shusha" within the SABAH groups project. In the category of IT knowledge competition (programming competition), BEU teans, “Filtrsiz” (Rashad Gasimli, Nasrullah Hamidli, Ibrahim Mammadov) and “Tento” (Samir Nasirov, Subhan Tanriverdiyev, Gunay Ibrahimova), were awarded 1st and 3rd places, respectively. The head of the teams is Ali Hasanov, senior lecturer of the Department of Computer and Information Technologies of BEU Engineering Faculty.

Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov, Rector of BEU Havar Mammadov and other officials of the Ministry took part in the awarding ceremony of the winners.

Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov evaluated the knowledge competitions organized within the SABAH groups as an important step in the development of students, deepening of their knowledge on training and professional training, and becoming as professional personnel. The deputy minister drew attention to the fact that students should constantly develop their knowledge, skills and relevant habits in order to become highly qualified specialists and be competitive in the rapidly changing labor market, wishing success to the winners. 

Later, prizes and certificates were presented to the winners. At the same time, 3 employees of BEU (Etibar Seyidzada, senior lecturer of the Department of Computer and Information Technologies of the Faculty of Engineering, Ali Hasanov, senior lecturer of the faculty, deputy dean for educational affairs, and Rauf Suleymanli, the electronic system administrator of the university) were given certificates for their active participation in the competition.

Knowledge competitions were organized in order to identify talented students, increase students' scientific-creative initiatives, encourage them to engage in scientific research activities in a healthy competitive environment, and integrate SABAH group students of various higher education institutions in relevant specialties. 75 teams (each team consisting of 3 students and a team leader-teacher) consisting of undergraduate students of SABAH groups (ASOIU, ASPU, AzTU, BSU, BEU, UNEC) participated in the competition, and 24 teams qualified for the finals. The finalist teams participated in the final stage of the competition held at BEU.
