The first group of students was sent to the People's Republic of China on September 8 within the framework of the dual degree program (DDP) between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), which began to be implemented this year.

Comprehensive conditions have been created for BEU students who are already in Beijing to continue their living and education at a high level here. Students will begin the educational process on September 15.

The program, implemented jointly with a leading Chinese higher education institution, covers the specialties of Chemical, Computer and Mechanical Engineering. In accordance with the program based on the 2+2 model, students who successfully complete the I and II courses at BEU will study the next courses at BUCT. At the end, students will receive diplomas from both universities.

This is the first dual degree program implemented at the undergraduate level between Azerbaijani and Chinese universities and is of great importance in terms of the development of human capital, scientific and technical progress, and the expansion of international cooperation. BEU students will deepen their knowledge on the modern scientific base of Chinese universities by taking advantage of the opportunities created by the program and will acquire skills in accordance with the latest standards.

Joint projects and scientific research to be implemented based on the cooperation established between the two universities will contribute to the training of highly qualified personnel in our country, as well as serve to strengthen the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China. Strengthened cooperation in the field of education provides an additional stimulus for the development of mutual trust and humanitarian relations within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.
