Students of Baku Engineering University (BEU) have visited Balakhani solid waste sorting and Balakhani solid waste incineration plants under Clean City OJSC.

The processes of waste collection, transportation, sorting, as well as incineration were explained in detail during the industrial tour attended by bachelor’s and master’s degrees students majoring in Ecological Engineering, Environmental Protection and Rational Use of Natural Resources. Furthermore, the students were clearly shown the ways of sending sorted waste for recycling and using it as raw material in the production of new products.

At the event organized by BEU Department on work with enterprises career, students got acquainted with the process of generating electricity by incineration of waste, and the process of disarming waste generated during the incineration process.

Students of the course organized within the framework of the ITACA project, in which BEU is a partner, also participated in the industrial trip.
