BEU students in Mentorship programme of BP Azerbaijan

    BP Azerbaijan has launched new mentorship programme to support career development of undergraduate students and alumnus from technical studies.

    Deputy Minister of Education Firudin Gurbanov noted that the development of the education sector and human capital in Azerbaijan was one of the main directions of state policy.

    Emphasizing the educational cooperation with UK, the Deputy Minister said that this country was among the first countries in our students’ choices for studying abroad.

    Noting the great interest in mentorship, F.Gurbanov added that BP's performance in this regard was commendable. At the end of his speech, the Deputy Minister congratulated the selected students and alumni.

   Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli and Narmina Nabiyeva, Vice-Presidents of BP Azerbaijan, expressed their satisfaction with this new initiative aimed at supporting students and youth development.

    Speaking at the event, Rector of BEU, Professor Havar Mammadov spoke about the importance of this program for alumni and students to build their future careers. H.Mammadov brought to attention that BEU students actively participated in such programs and international projects.

    Later, detailed information was given on the purpose of the program. It has been stated that the purpose was to provide one-to-one mentorship for the selected students to support their future career opportunities. The mentorship programme was mainly focused on the development of the required business skills such as communication, presentation, relationship building and so on. At the current stage of the program is planned to consist of 2 groups. The first group of students will begin the program in November of the current year, while the second group in January 2020.

  Generally, 119 students and alumni from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Baku Engineering University, Khazar University, Baku Higher Oil School, UFAZ French-Azerbaijani University will take part in the programme.

  Program participants will specialize in a number of areas, including chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, oil and gas engineering, construction engineering, energy, geological exploration / geophysics, energy engineering, process automation, recycling and resource recovery, environmental engineering, and information technology.
