BEU students distinguished in the competition “Global Game Jam”

With the support of the Innovation Center of Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Technopark, the 4th year students of Engineering Faculty of the University have been awarded for their active participation in Global Game Jam competition.

The event, which has been held in Azerbaijan for several years, has given a powerful impetus to the creation of the game-builders' society in the country. This year, the event was organized by SUP.VC and VRiendly, and a total of 9 new games were created by 77 registered jammers. The theme for 2020 was "repair" for the whole world, and Azerbaijani builders were able to create games according to the theme. After 48 hours participants evaluate each other’s games by sharing with each other və they were rewarded with valuable gifts sponsored by the partners.

It should be noted that Global Game Jam is an event designed for game developers every year on a variety of topics. The main feature of the event is that its starting time is the same all over the world. The first event kicks off in Japan and ends on the Hawaiian Islands. Within 48 hours, jammers set up a team, work on the idea, and make the game.
