BEU student awarded title of "Master of Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan"

Shahin Asadov, a fourth-year student of Baku Engineering University (BEU), a member of the Azerbaijani national team, has been awarded the title of “Master of Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov presented the relevant certificate and badge to the BEU student at a meeting held within the framework of the “Sports Week” with Azerbaijani athletes who have successfully represented our country at continental and world championships and prestigious international competitions, as well as their coaches.

Shahin Asadov, who was awarded the title, has been engaged in judo-sambo since the age of 5 and has achieved many achievements so far. In 2018 and 2019, he won two bronze medals at the national judo championship, and in 2022, he won a silver medal at the republican championship. Sh. Asadov, who was the republican champion in 2021 and 2023, won a bronze medal at the Raguf Orujov International Judo Tournament held in Baku in 2023, as well as a bronze medal at the international tournament dedicated to Archil Chocheli, the world and European champion in sambo wrestling among men, in Tbilisi, Georgia, defeating his Armenian opponent with complete superiority (9-0). Sh. Asadov, who took second place and was awarded a silver medal in the individual competitions of the national judo championship among women and men held at the Baku Sports Palace, won the country's cup (1st place) as a license for the world championship in sambo wrestling dedicated to the memory of Honored Coach Abulfaz Aliyev last year.
