BEU starts cooperation with Beijing Information Science and Technology University

As part of its visit to the People's Republic of China, the delegation of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has visited another higher education institution of this country - Beijing Information Science and Technology University.

Welcoming the delegation, rector Gou Fu emphasized his belief that the relations established with BEU as the first partner university in Azerbaijan would contribute to the international cooperation of the higher education institution he leads. He noted that various models of cooperation in the field of teacher and student exchange, joint scientific research, joint training of personnel will also serve to deepen educational relations between China and Azerbaijan, as well as the development of cultural integration. Providing information about the university, the rector noted that the university, which is one of the prestigious technical universities in China, specializing in information technology, provides education in engineering, mathematics, economics, management, etc., offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs in numerous fields, and is also known for its research activities, including industrial cooperation.

BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations Atraba Gul expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome, mentioning that the friendly and partnership relations between China and Azerbaijan have been further strengthened and cooperation in the fields of science and education has expanded as a result of the successful policies pursued by the leaders of both countries. Providing information about BEU, the Vice-Rector expressed her confidence that cooperation with BBeijing Information Science and Technology University would be beneficial for both sides and will also serve to bring our peoples closer together.

During the meeting, student and teacher exchanges, internship programs, training opportunities, and dual diploma programs were discussed between the two universities, and views were exchanged on the prospects of cooperation.

At the end, a cooperation agreement was signed between the parties. It was noted that the cooperation initiated during the meeting, which continued with a discussion of the issues arising from the document, is an important contribution to the 4th (quality education) and 17th (shared solutions and cooperation) areas of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
