A new article by Atraba Gul, Head of Foreign Languages Department at Baku Engineering University (BEU), has been published in the scientific journal Universidad y Sociedad (Cuba). The journal is indexed in reputable databases such as Web of Science and Scopus.

The scholarly research entitled “Mythical perception of nature and the function of symbols: principles of mythical logic and ways of formation of natural symbols” by BEU scholar is one of the few articles within the field published overseas. 

The aim of the research is to emphasize that the living experience based on the mystical consciousness of primitive man is in fact the root of the ability of the positivist mind to abstract in modern times, and to draw attention to the truly dominant role of this experience in human cultural evolution, which is sometimes ironically approached by modern man. It is based on the fact that the symbolization of nature through archetypes begins with mythical logic, and in the cult of nature, rational, irrational, and emotional behaviors are combined to constitute a complex content.

The published scientific article discusses the symbolic principles in the mythical understanding of nature, based on the scientific views of L.L. Bruhl and B. Malinowski.

Of note, A. Gul, who has been conducting various scientific researches so far, is the author of more than 50 scientific articles, textbooks, teaching aids and subject programs.
