Baku Engineering University (BEU) is represented at the “Global Sustainable Development Congress” that began its work on June 16 in Istanbul, Türkiye, organized by the “Times Higher Education” (THE) rating agency. Within the framework of the congress, which was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Science and Education, the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, the positive experience of 12 leading universities of our country is presented to the international audience at the Azerbaijani pavilion.
Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye Erol Özvar, other officials of the brotherly country, university rectors, as well as foreign guests, got acquainted with the stand of BEU. They were given extensive information about the achievements of BEU, a young university, in recent years, new specialties taught and opened, the conditions created for foreign students in a higher education institution with a large campus, etc. During the acquaintance, issues of cooperation with Türkiye and other universities were also considered.
At the official opening ceremony of the "Global Sustainable Development Congress", which Azerbaijan attended with a delegation of about 50 people, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev participated in a discussion dedicated to the experience of our country. The Minister answered questions about the opportunities created for the development of science and education in the period after Azerbaijan hosted such a prestigious international event as COP29. Moreover, the work done on sustainable development in our higher education institutions, supporting climate research, developing green skills, establishing global partnerships and other issues were emphasized.
It should be noted that more than 5,000 representatives from more than 100 countries of the world are represented at the congress, which will end on June 19.
