118 students of Baku Engineering University (BEU) will participate in the "Summer School" organized in the Republic of Korea. The "Summer School" is organized within the framework of the international double diploma program (IDP) with full state scholarship between BEU and Inha University of Korea. On this occasion, Rector of BEU, Professor Havar Mammadov met with students who will leave for Korea.
Havar Mammadov paid attention to the great role and importance of the "State Program on increasing the international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for the years 2019-2023", approved by the relevant Order of the President Ilham Aliyev, in the training of young specialists, the organization of highly qualified staff training, and the formation of the intellectual potential of our country. The Rector said that the implementation of the program is an indication of the head of state's attention for the country's youth and education, and on the other hand, his great trust and high attention to BEU, which is a young university. Calling the expansion of Azerbaijani students' educational opportunities abroad within the framework of the program a historic chance, the rector highly valued this invaluable opportunity created for the students and advised them to take maximum advantage of the program in order to grow as highly qualified personnel.
Havar Mammadov, recalling the "Summer School" experience organized in previous years as part of the dual diploma program between BEU and Inha University of Korea, implemented from the 2020/2021 academic year, gave relevant instructions, advice and recommendations to the students. Noting that the participants of the "Summer School" represent not only BEU, but Azerbaijan in general, the Rector advised them to honor the name of our country, to pay great attention to the history and culture of the country they are visiting, and to strictly observe its rules.
It was also noted at the meeting that the organization of the "Summer School" in Incheon, Korea, which will cover the dates of July 28 - August 18, is one of the main components of the international double diploma program between BEU and Inha University. It was also emphasized that the costs of students' participation in the 3-week "Summer School" are covered by the "State Program for Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023". In addition, it was stated that the students will be sent to Korea in three groups in stages, the first two groups will leave on July 27, and the last - the third group will leave on July 30.
Professor Hamzagha Orujov, Vice-Rector for educational affairs of the university, Humay Jafarli, director general of BEU-INHA DDP management department, and Yang Hyunjin, project director of BEU-INHA DDP, also spoke at the meeting and wished success to the students who will go to Korea.
The event continued with the instructional speeches of the teachers who will guide the students.
