BEU Rector meets with students who are members of families of martyrs

Rector of Baku Engineering University (BEU) Yagub Piriyev has met with students Aysel Manafova and Said Babayev, members of the families of martyrs.

At the meeting, the dear memory of all our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the freedom of Karabakh was commemorated.

Reminding that three years have passed since the start of the 44-day Patriotic War, Yagub Piriyev emphasized that our ancient lands, which were under occupation for nearly 30 years, were liberated from the enemy at the cost of the blood and lives of our heroic martyrs and veterans. Noting that the commemoration of 27 September, the day of the beginning of the Patriotic War, as Remembrance Day according to the Decree of President, Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is an expression of deep respect for all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the Rector emphasized that we will always commemorate this date with pride as a victorious nation.

Later, Yagub Piriyev drew attention to the work done by the state for the social protection of our martyrs and veterans, who wrote our glorious history of Victory, and the concessions made to their family members in the field of education.

The Rector gave instructions to the relevant persons to take an interest in the education and social problems of the students who are members of the families of martyrs, and to pay more attention to them during their education. Furthermore, it was pointed out that they will be involved in certain projects during their studies at the university, and appropriate steps will be taken to ensure employment after completing higher education.

It should be noted that Osman Natig Manafov, the husband of BEU student Aysel Manafova, was martyred during the liberation of Hadrut in the 44-day Patriotic War, while Senior Lieutenant Valeh Dadash oglu Babayev, Said Babayev's father, was martyred in 2007 during a combat mission.
