The academic staff of Baku Engineering University (BEU) will participate in the 6-week training to be held from July 11 to August 19 at Inha University of South Korea. The training aims to realize mutual exchange of experience based on the Dual Degree Program (DDP) implemented between BEU and Inha University, provide a special educational program for BEU academic staff, improve their knowledge and skills through the educational experience of the abovementioned university, as well as through experienced professors. The first training is intended for teachers teaching in the field of Information Technologies.
In this regard, the Rector of BEU, professor Havar Mammadov met with the teachers who would participate in the training (Etibar Seyidzade, Asif Ganbayev, Ahmad Ahmadzade, Ali Hasanov, Gulbika Zahidova, Khayala Ibrahimova, Rasim Mahmudov).
The Rector spoke about the ongoing reforms in the field of education under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, measures implemented in the direction of raising the higher education system in the country to the level of international standards, and the relevant state programs adopted. The Head of the higher education institution noted that the conditions created in the field of education in the country today created endless opportunities for young people, including everyone who wanted to study and gave the citizen of Azerbaijan the right to study in the most prestigious higher education institutions in the world.
Havar Mammadov emphasized that conducting training in Korea for the academic staff of the program was one of the main components of Dual Degree Program implemented between BEU and Inha University within the framework of the "State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023" approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Underlining the modernization of the content and quality indicators of the higher education system with international dual degree programs among the main goals of the State Program, the Rector pointed out that the program implemented between BEU and Inha gave exceptional advantages to students, and the dual degree in 4 majors (Information Technologies, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering) was a unique and historic opportunity for them.
The Rector talked about the benefits of cross-country mutual exchange of experience in the field of education, expressing his hope that the training to be organized in Korea would contribute to the educational process of BEU.
Humay Jafarli, Director General of BEU-INHA DDP, gave information about the work carried out within the program, as well as about the organization, directions and results of the training.
Hyunjin Yang, INHA Project Director of BEU-INHA DDP, brought to the attention the necessary information for those visiting Korea for the first time, introduced them to the customs and traditions of his country from the point of view of different cultures. The project director also provided information about the measures planned for the teachers during the visit.
It was also noted at the meeting that 2 admissions had already been carried out to the BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program at the bachelor's level, and currently, the online registration process for the 3rd admission is in the process. This process is scheduled to end on August 10, 2022 at 11:55 PM.
At the end, the Rector gave the necessary tasks and recommendations to the academic staff, and wished them success.
