Baku Engineering University (BEU) Rector Yagub Piriyev has met with students who won second place in the III International Chemistry Olympiad.
The Rector congratulated BEU students Mahammad Javadzade, Javid Ayvazov, Ali Mehtizade, Nihad Gasimov, who successfully represented Azerbaijan as the only team at the Olympiad organized at Magtymguly Turkmen State University and Professor Namig Shikhaliyev, who prepared them for the competition, on their victory.
Emphasizing that 211 students from 44 universities representing Russia, Turkey, Japan, China, Romania, as well as other countries participated in the competition, Yagub Piriyev called winning this Olympiad, which was attended by young people from Moscow State, Peoples' Friendship of Russia, Kazan Federal, Mendeleyev, Bukhara, Ataturk, Garshi, Xinjiang universities and other prestigious higher education institutions, a great success.
The rector touched upon the positive aspects of participation in international Olympiads for young people and said that both local and international competitions have a positive impact on increasing students' knowledge, developing their chosen specialty, and at the same time, on the reputation of the university they represent. In this regard, Yagub Piriyev advised students to always participate in Olympiads and aim to win, and wished them great success in future competitions.
The winners of the international Olympiad thanked the head of BEU for the meeting and expressed their gratitude for the conditions created for their education at the university, as well as for their participation in various competitions.
