Rector of Baku Engineering University (BEU), Professor Havar Mammadov has been awarded the "Jubilee Badge" for his services to the trade union movement in connection with the 100th anniversary of the Independent Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Employees (ITUAEE). The rector was awarded this prize by the decision of the Presidium of the Republican Committee of ITUAEE.

The award was presented to Havar Mammadova at a meeting with Mirza Jafarzadeh, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of ITUAEE.

M.Jafarzadeh spoke about the activities of the Trade Union and noted that the organization played an important role in protecting the labor and social rights of workers in the field of education, the effective conduct of their leisure time. Emphasizing that BEU Trade Union Committee was one of the most active members of the Trade Union, M.Jafarzadeh thanked Rector Havar Mammadov for his support.

Moreover, Havar Mammadov thanked the leadership of the Trade Union for the trust and attention shown to him. Giving detailed information about the University, Havar Mammadov also touched upon the active work of BEU Trade Union Committee and the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC). Speaking about the historical path of trade unions in Azerbaijan and its achievements, the rector expressed confidence that cooperation between BEU and the Republican Committee of ITUAEE would be further developed in the future.
