Rector of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has attended the international scientific-practical conference on "Green economy and the road to ecological imperatives: new challenges, opportunities and perspectives". The conference aimed to unite all efforts in the field of green economy on one academic platform and to organize scientific discussions on the subject.
International event was held under the initiative and honorary chairmanship of Sadig Gurbanov, the chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology, the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, the joint organization of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Yildiz Technical University, Institute of Management Systems and International Technical Strategic Association of Management and Administrators.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of the above-mentioned committee of the Milli Majlis spoke about the effects of global climate changes, world economy, environment, as well as global food safety and regional security systems. Sadig Gurbanov pointed out that the current problem made the transition to the "green economy" urgent.
Highlighting the relevance of the topic of the conference, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev noted that the interest in the training of specialists in technical and technological fields, especially engineering specialties, was increasing in the country. The minister emphasized the importance of conducting research on green economy and ecologically clean environment in science and education centers.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev, Vice President for the Caspian region, Communications and External Affairs at BP Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli, MP Soltan Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security of Türkiye, Professor Lütfihak Alpkan, ASELSAN's Vice-President for corporate management, professor Hakan Karatash, chairman of the conference, professor Cemal Zehir and other speakers touched upon in their speeches that the results of the conference would contribute to economic growth, including economic sustainability, and contribute to this field in general.
It should be noted that the topics of "green" economy, "green" education and "green" university, natural resource management policy, sustainable development, the impact of economic and demographic growth on the environment, efficient use of water resources, alternative and the use of renewable energy sources were discussed.
