Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Education Quality Assurance Agency (EQAA) have jointly organized the first training on "Regulations of accreditation of educational institutions". The training, attended by the heads of units of the university, was held according to the cooperation agreement signed last week between the two institutions.
Sevil Imanova, head of the Quality Assurance Department of BEU, made an opening speech at the event. She noted that BEU was among the first educational institutions that its accreditation was planned for the current academic year. Thus, within the framework of continued cooperation with EQAA, BEU planed to organize trainings on "Evaluation criteria for institutional accreditation of higher education institutions", "Rules for conducting self-analysis and drawing up reports during institutional accreditation". Furthermore, the trainings will cover "Mechanisms of internal quality assurance in a higher education institution", "Strategic planning and management of a higher education institution". The above-mentioned trainings aim to explain the new accreditation rules, criteria and the preparation of the self-assessment report. The head of the department also emphasized that after each training, the discussion of the next stages of the procedure was planned.
Later, the trainer, head of the Training and Methodology Department of EQAA Asiman Ilyasov gave extensive information about the activities of the institution he represented. The head of the department informed the training participants in detail about quality terms, quality assurance, including the difference between internal and external quality assurance, internal quality assurance in legislation and other issues.
At the end of the training, followed by a question-and-answer session, the training materials were shared with the participant.
