"Orientation Day" has been organized at Baku Engineering University (BEU) to support the integration of foreign students who have earned the right to study in the academic year 2023/2024 into the living and educational environment of a different country.
Informing the meeting participants about the nature of the event, Narmin Alakbarova, head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management of BEU, noted that in the current academic year, new students from different countries such as Turkey, Pakistan, Yemen, Philippines, Russia, India, Liberia joined the BEU family.
Narmin Kahramanli, the Department specialist in working with foreign students, made a wide presentation about the history, specializations and faculties of BEU, international projects with which it is a partner, including the "Erasmus+ KA1" exchange program, the position of the university in the rating table of the international agency "QS Quacquarelli Symonds", student organizations, etc.
Mushfiq Mehbaliyev, a specialist in migration issues of the department, gave the students information about the migration legislation, migration procedure, documentation stages and other relevant issues.
Later, the members of the "International Student Club", including fourth-year students - Muhammad Salar Khalid Ayub, a citizen of Pakistan, Abdullah Muhammedh Azharudden, a citizen of Sri Lanka, Oumar Mahamat Ousman Hassan, a citizen of Chad, third-year students - Yosiah Enyinna Atuma, a citizen of Nigeria, Mahdi Abdalmagid Mohamed Abdol, a citizen of Sudan took the floor. The speakers gave extensive information about the issues that will accelerate the comprehensive integration of students representing different cultures and different countries into the new environment and will be useful in this field, as well as their personal experiences.
