BEU organizes International Collegiate Programming Contest

According to the results of the regional phase of the contest, the teams of ADA University and BEU have been awarded the first degree diploma

Baku Engineering University(BEU) has organized the regional phase of “The 45th ICPC-International Collegiate Programming Contest” (XVI Azerbaijan Championship).  

63 teams from 16 higher education institutions of Azerbaijan (each team consists of 3 students and a team leader) and 3 school teams (out of competition) took part in the online competition. 

The teams were instructed to solve 13 algorithmic problems in 5 hours in C, C ++, Java or Python programming languages. The assessment was carried out automatically through the website  https://official.contest.yandex.ru/az2020/contest/23211/standings?p=1 .

According to the results of the regional phase of the contest, “Road to the Final”  and “Noobies” teams of ADA University took the first and second places, accordingly. “Baku EU 1” team of BEU held the third place and was awarded the first degree diploma. Moreover, 19 teams were awarded II degree diploma, 7 teams III degree diploma, and 6 teams certificate of achievement. 

34 successful teams will represent our country in the semifinals of "The 45th ICPC - International Collegiate Programming Contest” which will be held online on December 13 this year.

“The ICPC - International Collegiate Programming Contest” has been held regularly since 1977. The last constest (44th ICPC / 2019-2020) was attended by about 60,000 students from about 3,500 universities in 111 countries. 

Teams of higher education institutions of Azerbaijan have been participating in this competition since 2005. The main sponsor of the regional competition is PASHA Bank, a leading corporate bank in Azerbaijan.
