BEU organizes information session on Azercosmos

The Department on work with entreprises and career of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has organized an information session on Azercosmos. 

Natavan Hasanova, Strategic Development and Planning Manager at Azercosmos, recalled the Order of President Ilham Aliyev “On the establishment of the space industry in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the launch of telecommunications satellites into orbit.” She emphasized that Azercosmos received the status of the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 27, 2021. 

N.Hasanova stressed that Azercosmos organized “CanSat Azerbaijan” student model satellite competition with the support of the Ministry of Education as part of the implementation of educational projects in Azerbaijan. In her speech, she spoke about the role of Azercosmos in the field of space activities in the country, the history of the national space industry of Azerbaijan and the career opportunities in the organization she represented.

Ilkin Aliyev, an engineer at Azercosmos, delivered a presentation on the history of space. Mentioning Azerbaijan's achievements in this field, as well as the existence of Azerspace 1, Azerspace 2 and 3 Azersky satellites in the country, I.Aliyev added that telecommunication satellites were used to provide health, medical and educational services over long distances and remote areas, and meteorological satellites to monitor temperature and changes and air pollutionbildirib.

Ali Mammadov, coordinator of the SGAC (Space Generation Advisory Council) for Azerbaijan, touched upon that Azercosmos increased the scale and variety of educational activities, participated in global initiatives and aimed to promote the space sector in the country. In his speech, A.Mammadov provided the students with the necessary information about Azercosmos and its international initiatives, and spoke about educational projects.

The event continued with answering students' questions.

At the end, cards were presented to students, who correctly answered questions about Azercosmos and the history of cosmonautics in Azerbaijan. Thus, the students wrote their wishes on the card and placed them in a sealed envelope. Their letters are among thousands of wish letters on a satellite to be launched from France in 2023
